LEE'S SUMMIT FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

Welcome to LSFA! We offer NFL Flag Football (Spring and Fall), 7v7 Football (Spring only) and Tackle Football (Fall only) programs. We form teams based on geographic boundaries to encourage growth and strong bonds with in-zone players and coaches for years to come.

The Lee’s Summit Football Association (LSFA) was formed to provide athletes in the City of Lee’s Summit an opportunity to learn and play flag and tackle football. Working in cooperation with USA Football, Lee’s Summit Middle School, and High School coaches, we teach both our coaches and players the latest and safest techniques. Adoption of these techniques allows our athletes to play the game in the safest manner while it prepares them for future success at higher levels.

The Lee's Summit Football Association is run by an all  Volunteer Board,  Those volunteers are made up of Dedicated Coaches, Parents and Leaders among the Lees Summit community that give their time, energy, wisdom and passion to teaching young athletes the great game of football.

2024 Fall NFL FLag Football & Tackle Registrations will open in May 2024

Weather Updates & Practice Restrictions

PRACTICE STATUS - FRIDAY, 4/26:
YELLOW  - Coaches should monitor weather for practice this afternoon.

If thunder is heard or lightning is visible the practice must be suspended at least 30 minutes. Everyone, including all spectators, must go to a safe shelter.

GAME STATUS - SAT/SUN April, 27th/28th:
YELLOW - Please assume that all games will be played as scheduled.

Saturday, 4/27: We will get in as many games as possible. The severe weather is expected later in the day than initially forecasted.
Sunday, 4/28: Plan on playing until otherwise notified.

***If a game is postponed, teams will make up their game(s) next weekend on May 4th and 5th.

Gameday Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather prior to the start of the game, LSFA members will review conditions and determine if the game will be played as scheduled, delayed, or canceled.

If the Legacy Lighting System sounds off (faint single long tone) or lighting is observed in the area, our field monitors will sound a horn -  All teams and spectators are to leave the fields, seek shelter, and ideally, return to their vehicles.

  1. The maximum time a game will be delayed due to weather (ex. Lightening), is 45 minutes.
  2. After 45 minutes, the league will move to the next scheduled games, assuming the weather clears.

Please reference the lighting timer below for real-time alerts and return-to-play timers.

COACH OF THE YEAR (Fall '23)

Congrats to our Fall '23 Coach of the Year, Doug Schibi!

Congratulations Coach Doug Schibi (3rd grade Jaguars) on winning “Coach of the Year” for the Fall 2023 season! Thank you Coach for your dedication and being a great Role Model for our kids and coaches!

Coach Schibi on his coaching philosophy.. “Coaching at any level, is more than just wins and losses. Coaching our youth is about having those teachable moments in which kids can learn how to cope with adversity. Teaching them life lessons, like accountability, being a good sport, and respectfulness will take them far in life. There is nothing more powerful than a coach, that is coaching for the right reasons. Playing a sport should be a positive experience for everyone, and an outlet for kids to escape and feel comfortable learning and growing. With coaching, there is always trial and error. It takes time and patience. At times, you will have to pivot in a different direction to see what works and learn from mistakes. Most importantly, find what works and know that YOU are making a difference in their lives. Most of these children will forget wins and losses, but they will never forget how you made them feel!”

*Doug was selected through our parent and peer survey, where the LSFA board reviewed nominations and comments.
